We’re looking for a young choreographer!
We’re searching for a choreographer aged 16-25 to take part in our first season of the year by creating a short work on our company in Term 1.
This season will focus on delivering dance differently. From venue, sound, music, lighting, set, costumes to choreographic concepts - we want to change how we view dance, how we feel dance.

This is a wonderful opportunity for any young artists looking to further develop their choreographic skills or begin exploring this side of dance. We especially encourage dancers who are currently studying or completing a full-time dance course to apply. You will be connected with industry professionals throughout the season and will have every opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of choreography and live theatre.
Successful applicants will receive:
A group of dancers to create a work on
Rehearsal space
Time to workshop and create
Mentoring from some of Australia’s best choreographers (more on this very soon!)
Opportunity to work with our lighting, music, set and costume teams to produce your work
A full performance season
Your work filmed and photographed professionally (perfect for the resume!)
A small grant at the end of the season to put towards your next big work!
Requirements
You must:
✅ Be aged 16-25
✅ Have transport available to get yourself to and from weekly rehearsals in Mornington (we cannot assist with this)
✅ Be available for EVERY Sunday rehearsal in Term 1 beginning Sunday 7th Feb and ending Wednesday 7th April (only 6 main rehearsal sessions)
✅ Be available for the performances from the 8th - 10th April on the Mornington Peninsula
✅ Have a valid Working With Children's Check if aged 18-25
✅ Be willing to volunteer your time as a choreographer (we are a non-profit organisation dedicated to making art with young people - our company runs via the generosity of our incredible volunteers!)
